As she would say: Live every day of your life like it’s your last. Say yes to that, go do that, take the trip, visit those friends, and of course, tell your family you love them every day.

Michelle Renee Hilse Larrison passed away on July 12, 2025, surrounded by her family. She began her journey to heaven after a long battle with dementia.

Born in Wichita Falls, Texas, on January 16, 1965, she was the eldest child of Evelyn Baca Hilse and Donald Hilse. Michelle graduated from North Kitsap High School in 1983 and lived in Kingston, WA, where she raised her three children: Daniel, Matthew, and Renee. Later, she moved with her husband, Jack, to a small community called Driftwood Key, where she gained a large circle of close friends who will forever remember her kindness and welcoming spirit.

Michelle’s adventurous spirit began in her youth as a dirt bike rider and later as a skier. She loved the outdoors and found joy in traveling and camping with her family, taking trips with her husband Jack, and cruising the open road on the back of his motorcycle. Above all, her greatest joy was being with her family and friends.

Known for her infectious laugh, radiant spirit, and contagious smile, Michelle will be forever cherished and deeply missed.
She leaves behind her husband, Jack Larrison; her parents, Evelyn Baca Hilse and Donald Hilse (wife Donna); her siblings: brother Donald Hilse (wife Jerilyn), sister Theresa Staker (husband Mark), and brother Brad Hilse (wife Lindsey); her four children: son Daniel McDougall (wife Bonnie), son Matthew McDougall, daughter Renee Copple (husband Malcolm), and stepson Jack Larrison Jr.; her six grandchildren: Ronan, Teigan, Lucia, Elden, Mari, and Emerson; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews who loved her dearly.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Driftwood Key Club Pavilion, 37608 Vista Key Drive NE, Hansville, WA 98340.

About Frontotemporal Dementia

Frontotemporal dementia (FTD) is a group of brain disorders caused by progressive nerve cell loss in the brain’s frontal and temporal lobes.
These areas of the brain control personality, behavior, language, and decision-making.
Unlike Alzheimer’s disease, memory loss is not usually the earliest symptom of FTD.
Language difficulties, including trouble speaking, understanding words, or forming sentences, are also common.
FTD typically begins at a younger age than Alzheimer’s, often between ages 40 and 65.
